WRR Presents THE CLIBURN CONCERTS
Friday evenings at 8 p.m.

This summer enjoy world-class musicians as part of WRR Classical 101’s broadcast of the Cliburn Concerts. This exciting broadcast series, presented by XTO Energy, Inc., begins at 8 p.m., Friday, June 13 and will air each Friday at 8 p.m. through Aug. 8.

“The Van Cliburn Foundation's annual concert series presents Metroplex audiences with the opportunity to experience the world's finest artists in recital in Fort Worth’s Bass Performance Hall and Kimbell Art Museum,” Kurt Rongey, WRR’s Operations Manager said. “WRR is pleased to once again share these incredible performances with our listeners.”

Some highlights of this season’s broadcasts include 2005 Cliburn silver medalist Joyce Yang, pianists André Watts and Lang Lang, violinist Joshua Bell, and the long-awaited Cliburn Concerts debut of mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter.  Also to be featured are the Kavafian-Schub-Shifrin Trio (with 1981 Cliburn gold medalist André-Michel Schub), baritone Mariusz Kwiecien, and pianist Ingrid Fliter. These unique broadcast events will only be heard on WRR.
